PD Arts + Creative Symposium 2025, 20 June at LocHal

Join us for the annual symposium of the Professional Doctorate Arts + Creative – The Professional Doctorate program in the Arts + Creative is a space for third-cycle applied research that pushes boundaries of disciplines and practices. In this annual symposium, its artistic and creative research community opens this space for the program’s wider network, to reflect on  relevant developments, work, progress and insights.

This year’s symposium will highlight the programme’s multidisciplinary character by zooming in on the diverse fields of practice that its researchers operate in, connect to, and impact. It asks where, how, and with whom does the PD-research resonate? And what is the contribution of artistic and creative research to societal challenges?

Programme

After the opening remarks, the new cohort of PD-candidates will reveal their research ambitions in a live interview setting, moderated by Linda Duits. Our Zuyd candidates Sina Seifee and Celine Mathieu will also present their PD projects.

We will then break out into four small-scale workgroup sessions, organized around the current guiding themes of the PD Arts + Creative domain: Ecological Response-ability, Community & commoning Practices, Embodied Knowledge, and Mediatized Encounters. These workgroup sessions take place at the same time.
Each workgroup invites dialogue between the PD candidates and participants from the field. The day concludes with a reflection by Ingrid Van Engelshoven, followed by drinks and informal gathering.
